ABNT, APA 7, Chicago, Harvard and MLA are free. Other styles are part of Premium.
Runs in your browser: only the identifier or the text of each reference is sent to the bibliographic databases (Crossref, DataCite, Open Library, PubMed). Nothing is stored.
How it works
- 1With a DOI, ISBN, PMID or arXiv ID we fetch the official record from Crossref, DataCite, Open Library or PubMed. Without an identifier, you fill in author, year and title.
- 2EZScite formats it in your chosen style with the official CSL files — the same ones Zotero and Mendeley use — and also gives you the in-text citation, like (Smith, 2020).
- 3In a list, each reference is looked up and rewritten in your style, in alphabetical order. What we can't find stays as you pasted it, marked for you to review.
Free styles: APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago (author-date), Harvard and ABNT. Vancouver, IEEE, NP 405 and others are in Premium.
Without an account: up to 30 references per list and 60 searches per hour.
Creating citations is free; keeping them is EZScite. With an account, your library comes with you into Word and your browser.
